Governance
The Constitution provides for the appointment of a Council, which performs a governance role for the APSF, and oversees the activities and performance of the APSF. The APSF members and various medical and nursing colleges elect the Council.
The current members of the APSF Council are:
- Prof Bill Runciman: APSF President (Professor, Patient Safety & Healthcare Human Factors, School of Psychology, Social Work & Social Policy, University of South Australia; Joanna Briggs Institute, Royal Adelaide Hospital; Visiting Professor, Australian Institute of Health Innovation, University of NSW)
- Prof Jeffrey Braithwaite: APSF Chairman (Foundation Professor & Director, Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Centre for Clinical Governance Research, Faculty of Medicine, University of NSW)
- Dr Sue Johanson: APSF Vice-President (Australasian College of Emergency Medicine)
- Dr Neil Jones: APSF Treasurer (Head Emergency Department Imaging, Flinders Medical Centre)
- Prof Alan Pearson: ordinary member (Executive Director, Joanna Briggs Institute and Professor of Evidence-based Healthcare, University of Adelaide)
- Dr Matthew Thomas: ordinary member (Program Director, Human Factors and Safety Management Systems, University of South Australia)
- Dr Philip Robinson: ordinary member (Executive Director, Clinical Governance, Education & Research; Children, Youth and Womens Health Service, SA Department of Health)
